Switchboards
Old switchboards with ceramic fuses or no safety switches are the most common problem we find in older homes. A new board protects every circuit and leaves room for what you add later.
Most switchboard upgrades take half a day, and we tell you when the power will be off before we start.

Lighting
We plan the lighting room by room with you: where you read, cook and wind down, and which lights should be on which switch.
Downlights, pendants, wall lights, strip lighting and garden lighting, with warm or cool globes and dimmers where they make sense.

Power points
Extra power points where the furniture actually goes, USB outlets by the bed and dedicated circuits for ovens, air conditioners and workshops.

Fault finding
A switch that keeps tripping is telling you something. We trace faults circuit by circuit with proper test gear until we find the cause.
We explain what we found and give you the price to fix it before we do the work.

Rewires
Older homes often still have cloth or rubber insulated wiring, which breaks down with age. We replace it room by room so you can stay in the house.
We cut in as little as possible and patch the walls and ceilings when we finish.

Smart home
Smart switches, dimmers, sensors and timers that you control from your phone or by voice. We choose gear that works without a subscription.

Questions about the work
Can you supply the light fittings?
Yes, or we install the fittings you have chosen. We check they suit the room and the ceiling first.
Will there be a lot of mess?
We cut in as little as possible, use drop sheets and patch the walls when we finish.
How long is the power off?
For most jobs, less than an hour. For a switchboard, about half a day, and we tell you before we start.
Do you do small jobs?
Yes. One power point or a single light is a normal day for us.
